Also under the LTO Plate Standardization Project, old motor vehicles and motorcycles will be assigned new alphanumeric identification codes. Motor vehicle plates will now have a three-letter-four-number combination while motorcycle plates will have two-letter-five-number combination.

Assigning new alphanumeric plate numbers to old vehicles will not only clean the LTO’s records but also help it identify illegally replicated plates or those that were transferred from one vehicle to another."

kining mga bag-ong plate ba, dili lang bnew noh? hasta ang mga naay existing plate ilisan ug bago? sa ako nasabtan mausab jud imo plate number dili lang ang itsura?

LTO will require a plate replacement fee. How about those who were not issued any plates (presently on temporary improvised plates)? They have to pay a "replacement" fee?
