Then ok ra kaau ang Seasonic gi suggest ni Wylliexhan. Still a high quality unit, I run a Seasonic myself. 2 years and still going strong. If you want to better utilize your budget, you could always get a 6700 non-k and a decent B150 motherboard. Since you aren't really planning to OC anyway, you won't really notice that much difference in performance. Cheaper still would be the LGA 1150 Haswell platform as performance gains from Skylake aren't that big. Just some food for thought.

ang ako gi huna2 bro robs kay at least for the next 5 yrs. pwede pa ma upgrade ako workstation so mao na ga 6700k ko, naa man sad ko kaila na kamao mu OC so magpatabang lang ko niya once ma pahimuslan na nako ako proc. ang ako sad kay if mu palit ko Haswell platform then upgrading is already out of the question. willing pa seguro ko mo stretch gamay sa budget.

yeah u can go cheaper w/ b150 boards BUT most b150 boards i've seen have only ram speeds up to 2133mhz.. there's an asus b150 board where u can use ddr3 ram, but the other boards like MSI and gigabyte have ram speeds at 2133, is it only 170 boards (socket 1151) where ram can go higher speeds??

AND WHAT IF?.. u go w/ an x99 board, cheapest proc is prob i7 5820k (6 cores 12 threads priced at around 400USD), +8 slots ddr4 ram, asrock x99m extreme 4 has only 4 ram slots but cheapest among the boards priced at 220USD.. x99 boards are serious, not necessarily meant for gaming but for heavy workload like rendering w/c is the main point of this pc, an x99 setup might be pricier BUT what if the price difference is not that big... just another food for thought..

for 3D rendering, there is no other GPU choice other then Nvidia since most of the popular 3D rendering SW uses CUDA... and the intel Extreme platforms are very ideal for multi-GPU since it will run on faster speed due to the wide lanes offered by the Extreme platform...

i've just read the side by side comparison of 6700k vs 5820k, at stock 6700k is almost better at every performance since its clocked higher, and one of the biggest selling point is 91W vs 140W tdp, a huge jump in performance with lower power consumption, if i were to build a system now, i'd go skylake

as far as gpu is concerned, u can go w/ 980ti or r9 fury x (or nano if u want lower power consumption) to go w/ that z170 board, cause these 2 cards are on the top spot right now unless u count the gtx titan which is still preposterously expensive.. u might get lucky if somebody sells u a gtx titan for half the price OR trade it to a brand new 980ti

but on a pure rendering system like the x99, best gpu would be the nvidia quadro series, cause the quadro is dedicated for CAD operations and such, but this quadro series (like the titan x) is also ridiculously priced.. maybe they are worth it but i honestly dont know.. here are some numbers:

Quadro K620 2gb/128bit ddr3 12150 php
Quadro K2200 4gb/128bit ddr5 31430 php
Quadro K4200 4gb/256bit ddr5 60720 php

even the titan x (12gb 384bit ddr5) w/c has more numbers than k4200 is still cheaper at around P55k php, but as the description goes, these quadro series are dedicated for rendering.. maybe there is less development in these quadro series cause there's more action (and more money) to be made at the gaming community.. gamers will outnumber the architects

^ but for a rendering rig, if you'll chose the desktop variant (Skylake that is), then you are limited on the PCIe lanes... that's if your into serious 3D rendering... but, the desktop variant will do the job more than enough man gihapon... then mas cheaper pa in the long run...

bro @ i.draw.fast used a quad GTX 780 (non-Ti) on his rendering machine (rendering SW was Octane) and the rendering speed was still awesome even he used a desktop platform on that rig... GPU is always faster compared to CPU rendering... maka benefit gyud ta sa rendering apps like Octane w/ Nvidia cards (this is a given requirement)...

based sa comment nya, mas better ang multi GTX 980 (samot na ang Ti variant) kay mas pas2x... updated napud ni ug mo utilize sa power sa 980...

so, so for the mobo (granting desktop platform), better choose the mobo with more x16 PCIe lanes para ready ang rig to accommodate addtional Nvidia GPUs... nice man kuno kaayo ang scaling on Octane...

70k is a lotta money. I can build a 980ti monster rig with that.

Naay baligya sa tpc used titan black for 25k. Id get that if i were inclined to do 3d stuff.

SADLY, clock performance basehan, DILI WORTH IT.

gamay ra ug increase, dili worth it sa presyo. Alkanse ka mupalit sa skylake except BRAGGING RIGHTS nga naka skylake ka pero performance basehan, kumbate gihapon ang daan nga processors like sandy ug ivy bridge.

ang importante ana if kamang naba gyud ang ivy ug sandy sa current applications. pero dili pa man. they perform well and costs less. but wait! if you order now, tag P7,000 NALANG ANG BNEW sa i7 3770 sa pc quickbuys. ok na kaayo ni para processor nimo.

Mems karon kay tag 1.5k to 2k ang 8GB mems.

Get a GTX 980ti, z77 board or any SLI capable board. Get a stable PSU (Superflower or Silverstone 750w pataas para naay future proof ug SLI with another GTX 980ti.)
SSD pud kanang 256GB minimum or 512GB if kaafford ka. tag 8k na karon ang 512GB.
2TB, 3TB or 4TB for storage.

Kombate na kaayo dayon ni imong rig after.

Majustify nako magskylake chipset ka kung katong ssd nga M2 imong gamiton pero mahal pa dinhe unya walay availability. again bragging rights lang nga latest and greatest siya. kumbate gihapon ang current SSDs. dili pud ka ma-uwahi sa imong trabaho or games.

kana pud if mugamit ka ug thunderbolt, usb3 or 3.1 ug uban pa new features sa skylake. pero clockspeed ug performance ra basehan, 10-15% ra difference. dili kaayo na nimo ma-feel in real world performance.

Para nako upgrading chipsets is about features not clockspeeds only.

my vote goes to skylake for 2 reasons

1) 6700k at 4cores 8 threads 4.0ghz stock freq at 91W tdp will pretty much save you on electricity bills in the long run

2) there is actually room for upgrade in the future...
z170 pro boards can max out its ram at 64gb and at 3866mhz o.c. (so in the future u can buy new ram sticks w/ faster speeds and at 16gb/stick)
u can add another gpu, lets say u buy another gtx 970 and go sli.. or maybe sell that and just get a 980ti
get an M2 ssd

btw, that transcend ssd at 3200 in your setup , maybe u could go 240gb.. ocz trion 240gb is priced around 4170 and ocz arc 100 240gb is at 3999, maybe that 120gb is gonna fill up fast so y not go for 240gb ssd

and u can totally upgrade your system by buying an nzxt hue and go DISCO!
