it's the online dictionary that is wrong. i don't know any cebuano visaya dictionary hardcopy that is complete... there's a lot of words you can't find in those small pocket-sized cebuano dictionaries...Originally Posted by dessay
arnolfu i guess, it's understandable that these "tech" words have no bisaya terms especially because these words have just been coined recently, like just in the recent decades... and since Cebuanos are very fuent in English, there's no need to create bisaya words for these, after all we can pronounce these terms correctly, basin kani-adto wala man sila speech lessons mao mag lisod sila ug litok sa words, so maghimo nalang sila ug ila kaugalingon binisaya... but i guess now that we have these so-called phonemes and other speech guides, simply no need to create bisaya words.. but then again, i could be wrong..
Frigidaire® is a brand name of an appliance, mao man tingale na ang reason ngano "pridgeder" ang bisaya sa refridgerator... pareho ra sa Mongol® ang lapis and Colgate® ang toothpaste or Kodak® ang pictures... so yeah, just my 2 cents.Originally Posted by kyuusai
