pwede man dili na mu agi og broker. You can transact to the internet, lesser comission and you are the one managing your stocks.
this is true!! mas gamay ang commision ma bayran if u transact it urself.
@kalinaw thnx bro pila gyud diay e start ani nga business?

annais,
Basin naglibog mo sa on-line trading transaction through net ug phone trading transaction through phone call. You are right mas gamay ang commision sa on-line transaction comparo sa phone call transaction but still mo agi pa gihapon ang imong transaction sa imong broker then ipasa na nila sa Money Managers para sa pag bid/ask sa imong transaction.
untitledhero,
deli man mag lisod ang gamay nga puhonan, an drawback kan-on ang imong transaction sa commision.
untitledhero, sa PSE, naay board lot. meaning, naa'y minimum number of shares you have to buy at a specific price range. for example, ganahan ka mu-buy ug san miguel-B shares currently selling at 83. for price range 50.50 - 100, you have to buy 100 shares. technically, ang minimum investment nimo would fall around 5k.
mao nay deperensya diay sa PSE ug sa NYSE & NASDAQ kay mo palit ka per lot man with bracket & respect to price while sa NYSE ug NASDAQ puede gyud tingi-tingi ang imong pagbili.
One other thing annais, ang imong broker naa pod nay silay gi maintain nga figures pag nagsugod kapa.... try to contact them
@annais and kalinaw:> salamat sa nyo ha gitagaan gyud nnyo ug tubag akong mga pangotana!...
patabang ko nnyo b unsa pag start ani.. kanang ginag may lng like 5k in peso ha! unsa ako buhaton nko kong mag start ko? mo prefer mn ko mangotana nnyo ky sa mobasa gud ko ky naay uban nga mga word dli ko kasabot...heheh!....sori ha!... ug usa pa maayo gyud ng mangotana ky sa mag basa diba? ky motubag man!....hehhee!..
salamat...hope u consider me as ur frend..ned help lng...

1. nagstart ko with my research. kung sa negosyo pa, feasibility study. my beginnings were pretty much outlined by kalinaw sa first page.
2. check out goings-on in the business world. which company is making money. who's gonna acquire or be acquired. who are the investors. what laws and resolutions passed by the govt that will affect the companies. lahat... most promising companies go in your shopping cart.
3. diversify. do not focus on one industry.
4. find a broker. a good one. analyze their FS and their turnover rates. standard ang commission rates ng mga yan pero like kalinaw mentioned naa sila figures na gina-maintain. search for the right kinda broker for you.
so far, hanggang jan pa lang ako... next step would be to:
1. open a trading account
2. place a sell (or buy) order
3. receive (or pay) money
sounds easy?
@boylabo_17 and etgo
trouble with online brokers is that their work is technically to just take an order. this is the reason why you pay lesser commissions. they won't help you select a stock or recommend when to sell, what to buy and by how many. good, if you really wanna manage your portfolio on your own and you have the time to watch news and read 3 or 4 different newspapers a day.
for someone like me who is still not well-verse with the ways of the world, the brokers i'm looking for should be someone who can fill the gaps of my knowledge and my relatively zero-experience in stock market.
so... you see the role of stock brokers in the game?
