Uhmm, just wondering out of curiosity.. why are you planning to SLi two low-mid end cards instead of getting one high end card?

don't even waste time SLI'ing video cards (epecially ones under x600 geforce series) unless you need to play at ridiculously high resolutions. And the price of SLI'ing with two 8500gt's you could have bought one better video card like the 7600gt (and cheaper ATi equivalents), heck even buy an 8600gt/gts if you have money to blow for two 8500gt's. 8500gt is only mid/high end for the HTPC enthusiast as it has the most features along with 8600gt for video enhancement.
