case closed? uhumnnn nice!
sorry but ask lang ko boss..
ako setup is kani..
isp<>cisco 1941<> cisco switch
mag add tko pfsense para lang sa captive portal. ako e.connect ang pfsense sa fa0/48 sa switch as trunk port..dn LAN interface ra ako gamiton sa pfsense..pede na sha? d man gud mo gana ako captive portal ana na setup.
technically pwede gyud na siya... pero..., labad2x ang captive portal sa pfsense if imo sagulan ug "billing management" or so called vouchers and such.
ok, understood.
I'm not certain kung pwede ba, but technically pwede siya.
can't seem to answer this one , nosebleed ko ani, don't know much about trunking on switches
as what you have said above, if your cisco will do the route, then your pfSense box will act only as a switch and therefore does not require an IP. [not certain if this can be done]
better post it on pfSense forums bro, diri nga sub section: https://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?board=2.0
kung pwede sab, butangi ug picture sa connection infra structure aron ma-visualize nila.
bro..., just a question, why would you like it to be pfSense where the only functionality you need is Captive Portal?
and why not just use those access points and just install DDWrt or Tomato into it (and install captive portal)?
is pfSense on a physical box or virtualized?
pero kung stuck ka sa imo wifi hardware and not able to use DDWrt or such and/or can't buy access-points/routers that can be flashed with DDWrt.., then pfSense or other captive portal software gyud ang solution ani
tnx bro. PFsense is virtualized. The number of AP is more than few so I thought PFsense is an "easier" solution. I just don't know how to set it up ..thanks.i'll check on the link you posted.
good afternoon guys.. i am looking for ways to make our network infrastructure to be stable.
our company still uses home router that services workstations up to 100+ users.. and most of them are doing torrents (makalagot kaayu ning mga users)
mao nang mu bug down and router and restart nasad.
i read about PFsense and it captures my attention.
Pwede ba ma block ang torrent sa pfsense.. and will it work with PPPOe para maka connect sa internet
para intawn dili na ko mag restart sa amung router
its very complicated in terms of pfsense
there are ways to block traffic but torrent is one of the most hardest ones... (can be done with layer7)
I would suggest you replace your router with pfSense...
also..., one approach with your torrent problem is do something in reverse...
you allow the basic things like surf and such..., and limit the rest?
