not to offend anyone, but pls watch it in cinemas (not wait for torrent). the movie needs to break even at 200million so the other 2 installments (this is a trilogy) gets made. we really need to support films like this so the industry gets to produce these kinds of films. we all know only star cinema and rom-com movies earn big at the box office.

basing on the post credits scene, the next movie will be Gregorio Del Pillar. and i read somewhere the last installment is Manuel L. Quezon.

both movies el presidente (er ejercito) and bonifacio (robin padilla) pale in comparison to Heneral Luna. Heneral Luna is waaaaay better technically versus the two. i wasted 2.45 hours of my life watching El Presidente.

saw it today. it was a good movie. surprisingly had a lot of funny moments. the flashback scene was my favorite part. I think the movie would've been great if it started there, just so we can see how an Illustrado became one of the greatest heroes in Philippine history. my least favorite part would be the ending. the execution scene was too long. could've done it in a more artistic way instead of like a gore scene in some B movie, although the Spoliarium reference was a very nice touch. the interview of various characters - in particular Aguinaldo, Felipe and the Americans - by the "journalist" at the end INSIDE Antonio Luna's office felt off and took me out of it. I think that scene was unnecessary.

as for the message of the film. it's not something we don't already know, but we, unfortunately, just don't act on it. maybe there are some of us that do, but there are not that many.
