On eve of Robredo plane crash anniversary, American diver who helped search for wreckage shot dead

MANILA, Philippines - Two days shy of the anniversary of the crash that killed former DILG Sec. Jesse Robredo, an American who helped in the search and retrieval operations for the wreckage has been shot dead, allegedly by a subdivision security guard in Las Pinas City Friday morning.
Las Pinas police chief, Senior Superintendent Adolfo Samala, said Matthew Caldwell, a technical diver of the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary, was "shot in the face" with a 12-gauge shotgun in the midst of an altercation with the still unidentified guard at Hamilton Heights Village.
The Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA) is the volunteer arm of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG). It is composed of private-sector individuals who are on call should the PCG need help in rescue and retrieval operations.
Caldwell flew to Masbate in August last year to assist the PCG in looking for the wreckage of the plane that crashed with Robredo onboard. The light plane crashed on August 18 last year and it took the PCG and volunteer divers little less than a week to recover the wreckage.
The PCGA is composed of about 7,000 volunteer personnel whose expertise ranges from the very complicated technical diving to the most basic application of first-aid techniques.

as usual Liberal Party style the very first one was the bombing of plaza miranda, then ninoys assasination then cory's death now its time for robredo...
Whatever happened to the big cases he was investigating before his untimely death? those papers where his then usec ransack his office and took away documents the day he was reported dead...what could have happened if he was the DILG during yolanda?
