Why is the media assuming the bird was shot? The carcass wasn't reviewed by any Ballistic expert yet. Nice try media writers!
A crack in a bird's keel bone doesn't conclude a bullet caused it. A lot of reasons can cause keel damage. We have:
1. Attack by another Raptor.
2. Accidental collision with a pointed structure
3. Cartillage degeneration on birds
4. Blunt trauma
