have you tried sa tokyo2x? lami pud didto
Recently dined at the "Little Nonki" that opened not too long ago at SM (located next to Sunburst). Ordered the Sushi and Tempura "Set" (included soup and a soft drink). The price was approximately p280 (plus vat). For me, if the food (at any establishment) is not good, then no matter how low the price, it is still no bargain. Wow, I can tell you that this is surely a bargain because this meal was very tasty and satisfying. The sushi was a nice variety, large in size and a plentiful amount of pieces. The tempura was a mix of seafood and vegetables (including a huge prawn). The miso soup was nice (just wish they would a couple of more cubes of tofu in it (I only had one piece of small tofu in my soup)... that would be my ONLY complaint, and that is very minor one.
The service was great, once I told them I would need a few minutes to look over the entire menu, I was given all the time I needed, and came back only after I got their attention. I find it odd that waiters here in the Philippines usually approach you with the menu and then stand there with their pad and pen, expecting you to order withing 5 seconds of sitting down. Some of them will even take offense when told that I need some time to look over the menu, others will still stand there, and some will come back every 30 seconds or so... to ask if the order is ready to be placed yet. Anyway, the food was served so very quickly. Everything that was supposed to be hot was hot, everything that was supposed to be served cold, was cold. Wasn't missing any utensils or condiments.
Going back there in a couple of days (movie and dinner) but this time, there won't be a menu required, the order will be placed before the waiter can seat this customer... it will be the same delightful combination set again.Look forward to the wasabi giving me a brain rush again.... and again... heheh.
Must try the original Nonki after the pleasant experience at the new "Little Nonki" at SM City Mall. I read that the mall version only has about 50 percent of the original Nonki's menu.
** I believe that if word gets out about Little Nonki in SM, then Tokyo Joe's will not last for long (or at least be that profitable).
I hope the upcoming Korean Restaurant in SM will serve a tasty variety also (it surely has to be better than that ripoff Korean Restaurant at the Country Mall). Don't waste your money there. I ordered take out from them, and I have to go back there and give them a piece of my mind... and maybe my foot too...
ThanX
@namnori...i was glad to read your review...considering the original NONKI at AS Fortuna has always been my favorite for Japanese food. Now there is a place to get a "quickie" at such affordable price!![]()
Going there tomorrow... just not sure if it will be the original Nonki (I am interested to see their entire menu) or Junior. Yummy either way!Originally Posted by Gwynhuever

Nonki or Nonki "Jr" (SM mall next to Krua Thai). We just love the Tempura/Sushi set for p 280. Can hardly finish all the food put before you if you order that. The quality is also good. Includes miso soup, 8-10 pcs of sushi (never counted, just ate it... heheh), 4-5 big pieces of tempura (shrimp, sweet potato, eggplant, fish... ??), glass of coke. Great service. My wife got mad the other day when she found out I went there alone to eat.... just envious I guess.... heheh. I really didn't feel like just a value meal at a fast food place though. Don't worry, I brought her some food home, not from Nonki though.... heheh. Sushi and especially tempura are not the best take out food.

rairai ken ayala 4ever hehehe![]()
Kaishu near Shangri-La Mactan...
it's not just about the food, the service is also good...
