in some parts of the scriptures stated nga it is faith alone that can save us. but sa James 2 stated n need ug works. for me, useless ang faith kung wlai action. it is just like katung story s Bible na 2 ka brothers n gisugo sa ilang father. ang isa he said that he will not do what his father asked him to do. ang isa nman ni promise to do it. but ang katung nibalibad mao ang nisunod s iyang father. wla nisunod ang isa nga ni promise. so the question, who obeyed his father?

most will answer na ktung nibalibad at first but did what his father asked him to do.

murag ingun ana ruh pd ang faith. may people claim that they have faith, that they believe God, nga strong ilang faith, and so on. but that said faith is not complete without works. just like Abraham, who is called the father of faith. he proved his faith to God by instantly following His command na i offer c Isaac. he did not complained. and that obedience/deed was the completion of his faith. yes everyone can say that they have faith but only a few can prove it through their actions. and if a person's faith is true, mu result na cia into good deeds.

ang good deeds pakapin n nah cia s imung faith..

wala gyud sa bible niingon nga faith alone can save us, or faith + good works. bisan unsa pa nga version imo gamiton..kanang sa efeso dili na sad faith alone, grace ang subject diha dili faith alone.. kung mo cherry picking ka sa bible that suits your doctrine siguro pwede, pero sango ka kang James..

Pope Francis To Followers: “Koran And Holy Bible Are The Same”

    Link

On Monday the Bishop Of Rome addressed Catholic followers regarding the dire importance of exhibiting religious tolerance. During his hour-long speech, a smiling Pope Francis was quoted telling the Vatican’s guests that the Koran, and the spiritual teachings contained therein, are just as valid as the Holy Bible.

“Jesus Christ, Mohammed, Jehovah, Allah. These are all names employed to describe an entity that is distinctly the same across the world. For centuries, blood has been needlessly shed because of the desire to segregate our faiths. This, however, should be the very concept which unites us as people, as nations, and as a world bound by faith. Together, we can bring about an unprecedented age of peace, all we need to achieve such a state is respect each others beliefs, for we are all children of God regardless of the name we choose to address him by. We can accomplish miraculous things in the world by merging our faiths, and the time for such a movement is now. No longer shall we slaughter our neighbors over differences in reference to their God.”

The pontiff drew harsh criticisms in December after photos of the 78-year-old Catholic leader was released depicting Pope Francis kissing a Koran. The Muslim Holy Book was given to Francis during a meeting with Muslim leaders after a lengthy Muslim prayer held at the Vatican.

St. John Paul II has courted several controversies since being elected as Pope Benedicto XVI’s replacement in 2013. Francis has gone on record to say that homosexuals are not to be judged, Proselytism is nonsense and has endorsed the usage of contraceptive by Catholics.

The Vatican will meet again with Muslim leaders in late February where they plan to talk about further steps that can be taken to spread understanding and awareness of the Islamic religion.

    Uyon mo mga Katoliko?

in Ephesians yes you are saved by grace but through faith. and we don't say that the exact phrase "faith alone" is in the Bible but only the thought. religion is not an issue here because no religion can save a person. it does not matter kung unsa imung religion. nag matter na cia on Whom you believe. besides, wla mn gi ingun n if you have faith you really need to be good. it is up to the person how he/she perceives his/her own faith. if the person thinks that he/she needs to be good aside from having his/her faith, then let them be. i have been reading some arguments here. people, we don't need to argue with religion. the starter of this thread only asked if we are saved by faith alone or do we still need good works. religion is not included. that's why people don't understand each other it is because we tend to look at the negative sides. i'm sorry if medyo off topic. why don't we say something we know that could help them nlang instead of condemning them?

tsaka isa pa. it is religion that divides us, Christianity unites. as long as we believe in the same God, dli na issue ang religion.

acu dli cu Catholic but i respect the Catholics that much. i see them as my brothers and sisters. because we are all created by the same God.
