Sorry but you've got it wrong, my reply is with the discussion not for you or for else about your kid. Well we have a different perspective and preferences when it comes to TV and that's it. For me it's all about amusement and should not be taken seriously while yours is about educating and the influences that watching TV entails. You are right about the influence and sorry again I'm against the educating side, I think it's time to inculcate in the minds of our kids that what they see in TV is not always real and should not be applied in the real world the same as how they are guided when it comes of the would be bad influences that they inadvertently would encounter in their daily walks of life.

It would be difficult or otherwise difficult to control the content of TV's for they are a part as well with the economics through the product promotion and advertisement side, it is highly commercialized whilst it's all about attentions of the general public and the money earned through it and sadly some businessmen is so keen about earning and not so with the effects and that is why TV is quite risky when it comes to molding that young mind, and the risk would become much higher if there are too many channels to choose from.

Okay, so basically what kids see on TV is not educational and cannot be applied, right?
Are you advocating that kids SHOULD NOT HAVE THE PRIVILEGE to learn how early humans lived on History channel, how cheetahs hunt on animal planet, how stars behave on National geographic and how cakes are baked on food channel, because TV is only for entertainment? Or make everyone here in this forum believe that parents all over the world are paying millions to CBS, NBC, Disney, Nickelodeon for shows like Barney and Friends, Brainy Baby, Sesame Street for nothing but plain amusement?
