PLDT Home Bro Canopy to Free Upgrade daw to PLDT Ultera? Think before you say Yes!

As part daw of their improved service, PLDT texted me asking my location para daw sa free upgrade to PLDT Home Ultera from my current Smart Bro Home Canopy Connection. Ug kung ma-upgrade unsay naa?


1) 3Mbps of High-speed LTE service, compare to Smart Bro 2mbps ( really? )
2) Free installation / activation fee. ( sige nako kadungog aning free lagi unya naay charges )
3) LTE Network compared to 3g network in my current Smart Bro.

Before ko nireply, nakaremember dayon ko sa GMA-7 na TV Ad na, "Think before you reply". ( THINK BEFORE YOU CLICK MAN GUD TO ) aw oo diay no, sayop diay ko hahaha...

Seriously, nagduha-duha dyod kog reply, so i ordered my fingers not to make pindot or compose any message as a reply to that text. Instead, ordered them to run on the keyboard floor and search the net for the thing called PLDT Ultera, and here I found out the tricky thing on the said proposed upgrade.

According to the PLDT Ultera, you need to maintain 10GB of data per month to keep the 3Mbps speed. According to my friend computation, if magmaintain kag 10GB per month you need to have a daily usage of more than 300mb per day around 330 ata, murag nagwatch kag 1 hour kapin na video sa Fb or youtube pero dili HD or 720 na resolution ha. If molapas ka sa required GB per month, ang imo internet speed mo drop by 30 %, na hala giatot na! Ang 3Mbps nimo 1Mbps nalang kapin ang speed.

Ambot lang kinsa na ninyo ang nagpa-upgrade or nabiktima aning marketing style na imbes malipay ang user murag naminusan naman noon ang speed. Kuwang rana ang daily computation sa gamit sa internet oi para di ka makalapas sa per month na maintainance of 10GB, labi nag Youtube Fanatic ka. I will still choose the stable connection of 2Mbps rather than 3Mbps unya limitan diay ka.

I tried to inquire sa PLDT stall na nakita nako ug gi-istorya nako ang maanyag na incharge. Asus, gipasa man noon ko sa laki niya na kauban kay wa daw siya kabalo sa tubag hahaha....giingnan ko na iphase out na daw ang canopy mao kinahanglan na upgrade sa Ultera ang akoa connection. Pero akoa siya giingnan na if i let that murag downgrade ang tawag ana, dili upgrade, telling him the scenarios of Ultera.

Personally speaking man gud, murag marketing tactics ra sa PLDT na iphase out na daw ang canopy mao need na mag Ultera, hello!!! Duda dyod ko...maong kamo..kadawat gani mog text sa PLDT telling you to upgrade, ayaw dali dali ug reply ug yes! Susiha ang tanan kung asa ang makapaayo ninyo.

ngthink sad ko ani sauna to upgrade ky 3Mbps lage, sus ky 10GB ra man sad per month...maau nlang wala gelihok nila akong application...but ngkabati nman ang CS sa SmartBro...

TS im still using smartbro canopy. naa lang koy question, as wat stated sah imu post bah ma phase out nah ang canopy jud? as in wala nah? or when lng cya ma face out?...cenxa sah OT kaau TS..

gephase out na btaw ni, wala na sila mg issue ug canopy karon, kato nalng mga existing na subscriber...by the way, I check sa website sa pldt 1GB per day na ang limit so 30GB a month. kaso bati sad kaau ng per day basis ky naa bya jud time na lapas pa sa 1GB a day ang atong consumption, then naa sad day na dli ta mggamit. kansi gehapon ta kng per day basis.

My Canopy has just been upgraded to Ultera kay na wala ang signal since it was raining then I had to call Smart and they sent a technician sa to see my internet and after minutes of troubleshooting they told about upgrading to Ultera which I like before knowing na naa diay limit..but I don't have a choice coz I have to login nman sa akong Home Base as my other sideline...I donwloaded the Internet usage counter so I can track my usage.....mura na nuon ko ug paranoid sige check my usage kay murag dali raman mahurot ang 1GB na limit per day though mu reset siya the following day 4AM according to them pero dali ra gyud ma consume ang 1GB....1GB=1000 MB...nag use lang ko basic sites surfing and my app, few video naka consume na gud ko around 4-500MB 3 hours lang....nangita ko way to baypass then ang router pud grayed out and option to modify....I'm still seaching for ways...
