PBB Pinoy Big Brother Phillipines...Is it a good example to teenagers

Filipinos should realize the difference between TV and reality. Unfortunately, many tend to accept whatever they see on TV as real and true and this stems from lack of education which is a problem that majority of our countrymen face. Media should be more responsible by showing quality programs instead of what would be a commercial hit.

agree, but taking into consideration in this PBB teen edition kinsa man ang target ani? ay ko'g ingna ang mga parents,lola/lolo ug iyaan ang ila patan-awon... unya ang naa sa sulod balay ni kuya b_llsh*t during this edition nangeskwela ni ang mga contestant? im sure wala! so unsa may makuha nga education-oriented ani pbb program? wala... pagkahuman ituboy dayun ni as loveteam2x napod sa ABS CBN.

but the choices are limited. a lot of poor families don't have access to books, encyclopedias and such. why can't we be entertained and learn at the same time?

So what will happen to the poor if they will only rely watching TV for education purposes? i would agree if they will spent time reading books on public libraries or else school libraries than watching TV and there they could get the complete and proper information they need.

its not that the they are relying on TV for education but you must also remember sir that TV is one of the most influential forms of disseminating information and it would be wise that we can also learn "something" and not just for entertainment only.

I thought as per discussion that you wish for the TV as a source in educating the poor, for me that is really improper. I'm not a fan of PBB, but for me TV shows should not be taken as a context of such a serious issue as education because for me when I open the TV set one thing comes to mind that is to be entertained not exactly being educated, for there are mediums that precisely deal in educating. Well that is your preference being entertained and learning at the same time, so be it, but we cannot prevent other if they would brand it as boring, mostly if they already learnt it through reading or at school.
