ako bro, 9% health na lang for more than 7 yrs ning Seagate 320 GB 7200 rpm drive nako diri... Feb 2009 pa nako sya napalit then O/S and Apps drive since then (except for nearly a month last yr na akoa syang gi gamit ug storage drive)... back to business sya as an O/S & Apps drive after that. it's running 24/7... so far, wala man gyud ni na hagtos sya... work around nako kay mao ni... "Un-install HD Sentinel" para mawala ang eye sore... hehehe...

sa imoha na case, observed lang ana nya labi na sa actual performance on read & transfer files. it is best to back-up your important files... kaning akoa, performance wise, the same as bnew sya. dili ko maka bantay sa performance degradation...

core i5 bya tawon with 8gb or ram so natingala ko sus mao naman diay to... down sya ug kalit to 70 then after few or so hours
ni down napod to 61 so dali2x daun kog backup kay paspas man kaau xa ni degrade... for 2 days wa nako gigamit kay basin mo degrade pag samot then pagbalik nako ug open (before nako ilisdan unta ug new HDD) ni balik naman pod ug 80 so na wa nalang nako gi ilisdan. obserbahan nalang ni for the meantime if mo degrade below 50 aw ilis najud..

@lloyd_joy, same sad ta sir naa sad ko 80gb nga drive nga tag 6% nalang daun external sad nga 8% since 2010 pa... sa external ma ila jud nako ang daot2x niya kay ma corrupt lang kalit mga files... sa 80gb wa raman kaau mao man gani ako gi himong OS drive para sa core 2 duo nako nga rig pang encode2x ra nuon hehehehe

ah i see... sa akoa, basta ma feel na gani nato ang performance degradation, then that's it... hehehe... huwat lang ta mo hagtos sya. mag hinay2x man hinoon ni. dili man ni kalit ma matay. so, maka transfer pa ta's important files. kun w/in warranty pa, aw, claim dayon ta... if wla na, wala ta'y mahims... hehehe...

sakto gyud nang gi himo nimo... back-up then observe... wala gyud ta'y mahimo ani nila... ma mechanical HDD or ma SSD. naa man gyud ni sila MTTF (Mean Time To Fail) or MTBF (Mean Time Between Failure)... theoretical value ra ni na ma compute. in reality, daghan man factors man gud sa life span aning electronic HW maong, lain2x ug experience ang users... samot na, i apil ang mga risk on both manufacturer and consumer...
