Actually, the purpose of this thread is to have a sharing of info/idea with our fellow istoryans to have a better view on the candidates. And if we considered ourselves to be a cut above the bobotantes, then it's our duty to educate them.

Got your point bro. The bobotantes really are the problem. I've known a lot of them, from friends, relatives to neighbors. But the most clear reason why they are like that is because of their lack of access to information related to our politicians, especially the candidates. Some don't even have the luxury to watch news on TV. Lucky for us, we have access to the internet, tv & newspapers.

I think we have the opportunity to educate the bobotantes around us in our own little way. if each educated voter can educate 10 bobotantes then we can go a long way. But before we start educating them, we need to get the backgrounds of the leaders that we would choose. And it is in this way that this thread can help.

Duterte's choice of switching our country into parliamentary government is what Philippines need. He's quite a good choice at the moment.

Nice share bro. Duterte is still on top of my list. But he has a slim chance of winning especially if he can't ride on an established party
and enough funds. Same as what happened with Lito Osmeña (PROMDI) before.

Running for president entails a huge amount of funds. Another problem is to penetrate Luzon. Without a strong national party to support him, it would be hard for him to penetrate in Luzon.

I agree, that would be the best thing to do. But I think they would still need our input because even if we would teach them how to choose, they don't have the information necessary for them to make the appropriate choice. As I've said in my previous post, some don't even have the luxury to watch news on tv. They only based their choices on what they heard from other people.
