fight scenes could've been better. they cut too often where you'd see a punch being thrown and then it cuts to the punch hitting a face and it's show from a different angle. it's something very common in American action movies, particularly of late. that way of shooting fight scenes just ruins the flow and immersion of the fight. that's why the one take fight in episode two was the best. you can see it all and pretty clearly. I wish they did all the fights in the show that way, or at least shot it the way Hong Kong action cinema shoots it.

show also delivers information 95% of the time through dialog instead of showing it and presenting the information visually to the audience. although doing it through dialog is cheaper, but visual storytelling for a visual medium makes more sense and would have been better, because you would be able to feel more and have a stronger emotional connection for the characters if you can actually see their story rather than hearing about it. but the writing for the show, overall, is good. better than all shows of this genre. didn't tire me or bore me except for a few instances involving characters I don't care.

speaking of which, the characters were okay. some were interesting, and some were not. Karen and Ben fell on the latter one. every time they were on screen I tried to busy myself with something else. glad Ben died, too bad Wesley couldn't finish Karen off. I like Wesley. he was enigmatic. I actually thought he was the one who orchestrated the function poisoning, but it seems like he really is Wilson's friend. Vanessa was also very interesting in the same way as Wesley. she kept me guessing what her true intentions were, was she just playing along out of fear, or does she actually have feelings for this bastard? and it really wasn't until she put on the ring that I was finally convinced that she does indeed love Wilson. my Daredevil lore kinda sucks. Stick was a badass. Wilson was frightening. and Matt himself was aight.

7/10 I'd say. can't wait for the next show.
