pde magpa suggest ug cheap cpu para dota2 ug kanang para software sa mga archi students. thank you.

d ko sure pila ako ma afford gud boss. pa lista lang kos mga components.
@ TS,
for now, the best bang for the buck for a "pocket friendly" budget would be a GTX 750 Ti and R7 260x (HD 7790) for apps like AutoCAD... but, once you'll do serious rendering na (granting GPU dependent ang rendering apps), dako na ni'g gasto and the path for now would only be Nvidia multi-GPUs for their CUDA...
and for the CPU, go Intel (if the apps that you'll mostly use is single threaded. we all know that this is intel's strength even on their dual core CPUs)... minimum would be a Sandy Bridge i5 (kani preparation ni basin maka sideline ka. ok2x ra ni for CPU based rendering workloads)... daghan man probs sa AMD FX based sa mga reviews but, huwat ta'g comment sa mga naka gamit ug actual AMD FX CPUs on their Eng'g or Architectural Applications... wla ko'y personal experience ani kay its not my field man (my field is in manufacturing, quality and reliability eng'g)... bisan gani sa FreeNAS, gi discourage nila ang gamit ug AMD platform pero, sa akoang experience, ok man ang akoang AMD based (Athlon 64 X2) FreeNAS server... don't know kun grabeh na ang pag configure sa HW pud hinoon... anyhow, this is just an example na ok ra ang AMD gyud...
pero, nice ni'g multi-threaded performance and FX baya... barato pa gyud... downside would be the power consumption... pero, gamay ra kaayo ni'g difference sila in actual bill ba. gawas siguro mag sige ta'g run ug MSI Kombustor and Prime95 on a 24/7 basis... hehehe. naa man ko'y gi share diri na power consumption sa FX-6300 @ stock w/ the following: stock cpu cooler, 1 x 80 mm 2,200 rpm exhaust fan, 1GB DDR5 HD 7770 GHz Edition, Asus m-ATX mobo (760G chip set), 1 x 4 GB Kingston HyperX Blu DDR3 1333 Mhz, 500 GB WD Blue 7200 rpm desktop drive & 450W SuperFlower PSU... ang availability lang sa Cebu ang show stopper ani nya... "win-win" ni sila's i5 even on the price (on the FX-8350)... ang i5 ron, barato naman lang pud... alternative pud would be the FX-6300... the same price range on the i3 series and sometimes even lower (mao ni ang price nko diri. mas barato ang FX-6300 compared the i3 series)... just follow your heart and check the benchmark on the games that you'll play (consider lang pud na most games now are GPU dependent pero, ma CPU dependent sila kun multi-player online ug max ang GFX quality. need man sa system na ma unleash ang full power sa GPU)... then decide... ayaw na pag "future proofing" kay lain napud ang mga platform ang mogawas after the AM3+ (this will stick until the new micro-architecture will be released on AMD's enthusiast level CPUs) & LGA 1150 (most likely, naa pa ning 1150 but on DDR4 na for the next micro-architecture)... if you'll DIY a rig now, enjoy the current technology which can be bought off the shelf or on order basis... don't wait for tomorrow, for tomorrow would be another problem to tackle w/ respect to our budget... well, this is the fact on technology... as i've said on my previous post, in the electronics industry, all companies battle cry is this... "Innovate or Die!"...
pahabol...
if budget it tight, then check AMD APUs (Kaveri based would be best)... these gems rocks on budget gaming configuration (discrete-less GPU config) and for sure, any eng'g & architectural apps would run just fine w/ them...
an alterative would be Celeron or Pentium w/ entry level discrete GPUs (R7 240 or GT 730... just an example)... check lang the prices w/c is lower vs APU based rig if the budget it tight gyud...

Nvidia's CUDA is much more supported compared to AMD's Stream w/ respect to Professional applications...
