I meant URCC Cebu held last September 1,2007 at Royal Concourse..with the amount of Cebuano fighters(mostly Yawyan) entered into the event, only 2(not so sure) were victorious and none from the said org..i wasn't pertaining to Yawyan in general...i am sorry for the misunderstanding....i was talking about the martial arts scene in Cebu,particularly..

abuot: hehehe, sori bro i thought u were referring to urcc in general. my apologies..

kyla_bacs: bitaw bro, Allan Co pinaka the best so far akong na kit-an sa urcc... sayang lang he lost in his come back fight since 2004? during the recent urcc10. naa koy video sa iyang yr2004 fight against Caloy Baduria. twas a very nice fight. he used his jui jitsu skills against the boxer caloy. yup, he's no longer using the team yawyan since he's already representing gracie barra jui jitsu, and mas sikat sad kay gracie barra worldwide. pero before, he was a proud yawyan member even gani if ni balhin na siya sa deftac, iya gyd gipa maintain ang yawyan under his name, deftac/yawyan, and even sported a shirt w/ yawyan logo in urcc 1, 2 & 5.

What I think about KMA is that there is limit. AGE. When you get older those kicks and flying triple spining kicks will never be effective when you're older. TKD, HKD, HRD, TSD - all korean martial arts are effective depending on situations also. I've been with Hwarangdo for so long time and as I get older (late 50's now) that when you fight the kicks are not as much as higher as I was young. There was a post that says the best defense is "run". Very true, get out as much as youcan and be safe but the questions should be considered also that the attacker knows how to run too... if he has weapon (knife maybe). The runner ends up tired if cornered... I don't think there is a big chance to fight back because you're already tired from running. As for me, I'm old and running is not an option and the best way I can do isto fight back. FMA doesn't choose age because of minimal move... the effectivity is tremendous. The chance of survival from a knife attacker is greater than those who doesn't know how to fight. I have been with Balintawak for a long long time now and it proves me so many real fights. I got cornered and attacked by 3 people with weapons (pipe, knife and a belt) but I managed to survive - yes, I got huge gashes from knife wounds and bokol from the pipe and whipped by a belt but three of them lost. One broke his shoulder blade, one had a teeth replacement and the 3rd one had a 37 stiches on his back (grabbed his knife and used it against him). If not from my training with FMA, I could be 6 feet under now.

    Sorry for the long post.

    Chocomai, musta diha dhong?

    Good point there sinyalan!

bitaw kaning mutiguwang nata murag lisod na kaau e rakrak ug striking.

Since FMA teaches locking, dumog n weaponry so mas nindot ni cya i practice kung edad edaran na ta.

then naa sab lain nga nindot pod para sa may edad na. pencak silat ug vovinam or viet vo dao, kay naa pod clay principle sama sa FMA, economy of movement n precision sa imong striking, locking ug takedowns. nindot pod ilang system sa zoning.
