Bro,
i think the problem is that, the "static IP" that you are referring is naa sa WAN side sa imong modem. As you've mentioned, your modem's LAN side IP is 192.168.1.1. I think your ISP-provided-modem is doing the NAT for you, in which case, dapat ang imong Linksys VPN router ang mu-perform. Request your provided to reconfigure your modem for a "bridge" connection, aron and WAN port sa imong Linksys router ang maka-kuha ug Public IP (connectivity from modem to linksys vpn router is either PPPoE or DHCP na, depende sa imong ISP). Then, follow the step-by-step procedure as per Linksys manual.
Any idea where we can buy a Linksys VPN Router (RV092) ??
Thanks
Thanks.. I already found it..
Available sa MDR..
Linksys RV042 4-ports - P9,500
Linksys RV082 8-ports - P17,900
rusbel, have you tried PPTP as a start. with this your VPN client(i mean your Boss) doesn't need a VPN client software. PPTP is generic to windows but not as robust as IPSec VPN.
I dont know how this Linksys really works but i did have a set up before. I used a firewall/VPN box. Same public IP address for outgoing internet traffic and incoming VPN connections.
Once the VPN tunnel is terminated (successful authentication that is) the firewall/VPN server (which is my box) gives the VPN client the IP address which i allow to access the internal network.
Maybe you can check the manual of your router and see what it can do.
rusbel, you can try adding a nat configuration on your router to point to the pc (vpn server) using a port number. the pc should have a static ip. so the other side will dial your office public ip + port number. i never tried this but this works on rdp. try lang bro.
lets don't make things complicated..If VPN main office to branch office you need one public static ip address for each location, mao rana cya you can configure your vpn router to tunnel on that ip. If vpn for mobile employee naa man sad ang linksys bro na software vpn client para mka tunnel cya sa main office na vpn. Any mobile employee can connect to main office using his/her laptop as long naa siya internet connection using sa software na vpn client. try browse sa linksys na website bro naa cla ana.
