Bro wat if mag buy nlng ko 2x2gb ram.. Ok rana? Aron 8gb na tnan..
^ you will not notice the difference bro... even on a single vs dual channel... makita ra nato ang difference during benchmarking... before sa akoang m-ATX gaming rig, nag gamit ko'g 2 x 4GB Avexir standard series and 2 x 4GB Kingston HyperX Blue... a total of 16GB... both mem modules were DDR3 1333 MHZ pero, per brand, lain2x sila'g stock timings. para mag pareho sila'g timing tanan, akoang gi adjust sa BIOS...
sa imohang case, pwede ra ka mag puno'g another 2 x 2GB mem modules para mag 8GB total na kun dili nimo ibaligya ang previous pair nimo...
Just need to comment on this bro regarding dual channel vs single. In my case, i can notice a significant difference in loading times from single to dual channel most especially during bootup. Mas paspas mo load ang mga desktop icons in dual channel. Pero ang difference is dependent on the mem capacity also. 4gb vs 2x2gb naa gyud, 8gb vs 2×4gb lesser.
I also noticed that this difference becomes less significant ug naka-ssd na ka.
@ bro keropi,
ah i see... akoang nasuwayan diri kay 1 x 4GB (DDR3 13333) and 2 x 4GB (DDR3 1333) on a G1620 CPU & 250 GB WD blue HDD @ 7,200 rpm on the give-away rig... akoang gi compare ganiha pag mata nko @ 5 am... akoang mga rigs kay naka dual channel man ni sila. kani lang sya ang naka single channel...
wala ko naka actual time nila during boot-up and shutdown kay wla ko'y stop watch... based on feelings lang ni nako pud... hehehe...
to add...
wala ko'y lain gi butang na mga memory resident programs sa rig... Win 7 OS, Nvidia Geforce Experience and Windows Defender after boot. if naa'y lain mem resident programs, siguro mag lahi2x na gyud ni sila. basin this time, sa akoang case, maka bantay nko sa difference...
if makaya sa budget, mas better gyud mag dual channel na daan like 2 x 4GB para pwede pa mag puno'g another 2 x 4GB para 16GB if needed sa rig kun gamiton ug more than a gaming rig...

kun maka kita ka'g the same ram modules anang current nimo, the better. if dili ka maka kita, pwede ra lain mem modules. mas better pareho ang duha na new modules pud then mao in-ani-a pag butang kun dili sila pareho'g brand...
Old mem modules... on mem slots 1 & 3
New mem modules... on mem slots 2 & 4
for experiment sake, on my gaming rig pud (sauna ni nko gibuhat), nag suway pud ko'g install ug 2 x 4GB Kingston Beast (DDR3 1600) and 2 x 4GB Avexir Core series (DDR3 1333)... wla ko'y gi buhat sa BIOS. based on theory, mo down clock ra ang faster mem modules... then duwag ko'g BF3 & Crysis 3... did this for 1 week and game ko'g 30 mins to 1 hr daily. so far wala man ko naka sugat ug BSOD... then test pud ko'g edit pud ug clips through Adobe CS4 and AE CS4, result, wala ra pud mag BSOD.
then gi OC nako ang Avexir to 1600 MHz speed on the BIOS ug gi parehas ang timing. then test AIDA64, stable ra pud... then raised the speed to 1866 MHz, dili mo boot... dili kaya sa 13333 Avexir core series ram modules...
^ dili ra ba kaayo ko pili-an sa mem modules bro... hehehe... ask ta's comment sa uban... for a gaming rig, even as 4GB system is enough pa for now pero, on your case, better mag 8GB ka... for a gaming rig, 16GB is a waste of money...
sa akoang case, naka 16 GB ning main gaming ring nko... 4 x 4 GB Kingston Beast. stock speed kay DDR3 1600 MHz pero, naka OC ni sila'g 2133 MHz on an Asrock Fata1ity Z77 Professional w/ an OC'ed i5-2550K @ 4.6 GHz -daily speed (max nya kay 4.8GHGz. haven't obtain that elusive 5 GHz. maybe, try nko ni then 8GB lang ang mem na itaod for OC'ing sake) and an OC'ed Yeston GTX 670 SLI on a Corsair TX750W PSU.... ang purpose lang nganong akoang gi 16GB ni sya kay para mapuno ang slots... para dili bare ta-awon... hehehe... ug para pud magamit nko inig video editing nko gamit Adobe CS4 Production Premium Edition...
to add...
gamit diay nko na CPU cooler ni nya kay Antec Khuler H2O 920... unya, mag lagot man ko maminaw sa stocks fans nya na mag ilis2x ang speed, so, had changed the 2 x 120 mm stock fans w/ 2 x 120 mm Corsair SP120 HPE @ 2,350 rpm each... constant speed man ni sila, so, dili nko ma annoyed sa variable speed sa stock PWM fans...
