An american once told me that he was standing along colon st. with his filipina wife smoking his cigarette when after throwing the butt at the gutter, a city hall employee (must have been an enforcer of sorts), confronted him and told him that he needs to pay a fine of P1000 for littering according to an ordinance. The american told the guy he was willing to pay the fine so long as he also does the same to other people around thowing all sorts of things on the sidewalk. Lo and behold, more than a dozen of our own countrymen throwing their cigarette butts all over the place. So now, my point is, if we can't put the fear of the law on our own kind, we will always hesitate in doing the same to foreigners. And that is why some illiterate foreigners think that we don't deserve their supposed "respect".

I've noticed there is an increasing number of complaints against Koreans being rowdy and disrespectful. Ok ra man ko sa mga Koreana....ang mga Koreano lang ang medyo kulang sa dokol.
