ako, if ok ang light, like if outdoors on a sunny day i take group shots at f/16. i do f/8 if hapon2x gamay. and i do f/4 in lowlight.

Even at f/2.8, you can still capture all your subjects with the same sharpness regardless of their distance from one another (DOF). The trick there is, you just have to distance yourself from your subjects so that the DOF will increase.

For example: Try taking a shot of a flower 1 foot away. You'll notice the Bokeh in the background regardless of your f-stop. Now back up to 5 feet and take a shot of the same flower. The Bokeh lessens and you'll have a deeper DOF. The same is applicable to group shots.

Thanks to dbgg1979 for pointing this out to me a while back.

I agree pod na start ug f/8 kasagaran. Or f/5.6 murag ok pa ghpon. The problem with 2.8 is taas au ang percentage na dili focused tanan labi na kay 10 people iya giingon. Though dili pasabot na if 2.8, sayop na. Ang point is most likely dili mafocused tanan. And the problem if group picture, impatient kasagaran tawo so you have to shoot fast... and right. Mao agree ko sa start ug f8. Pero if gagamit ug flash, mga f4-f5.6 cguro ko para dli kau dugay magrecycle ang flash. Remember, impatient kasagaran. Hehe. Mao rapod ako ikatampo. Amen.

Another tip I can share is "do a custom white balance" based on the light temperature kung asa imong subject.
I used to shoot with auto white balance but found out that a custom white balance setting will always nail the best color. I save all photos in RAW and RAW processing is done with Bibble on a Linux system.
Custom white balance will save you a lot of time during post processing (digital photos do require post processing).

Another tip, shoot and save RAW with AdobeRGB as color profile, save processed photos for web display with sRGB color profile.

As much as possible when doing photography, do it right the first time just like those times when you're still using film (mas maayo kung nakaabot pa ka ug gamit ug film) .

why man save in RAW? dagko raba file size ana.
