I feel sad that the bravery of these men was used for personal interest.

“The chain of command structure was established to prevent breakdown in discipline that would result in troops going rogue,” said the general, who requested anonymity.

“Bypassing Roxas and Espina was two serious breach already. The third most serious breach was assigning the authority to suspended PNP chief Alan Purisima,” the general said.

“I maintain that the President made Purisima still the de facto PNP chief despite his suspension,” the general said.

Based on the established structure, the general said the SAF forces could not carry out any operation without clearance from either the President or the PNP chief.

“It is preposterous that SAF Director Getulio Napenas would invoke that being a good soldier, he went on his own and went straight to the President. He was not trained to go direct to the President. He was trained to strictly follow the chain of command. Otherwise, the highest PNP authority would declare that his commando has gone rogue and all those slain cops died in vain. They cannot be given honors. All the benefits due them would be forfeited,” the general explained.

His speech only raised more questions than answers,” Zarate said.

Ridon, meanwhile, said President Aquino’s absence in the arrival honor ceremony for the fallen SAF men spoke volumes of the president’s lack of basic respect for the slain policemen.

“His choice to instead head to the opening of a car factory in Sta. Rosa shows how little he cares for his uniformed personnel, who died in an encounter that he himself green-lighted,” Ridon said.

“Aquino’s cold, unfeeling heart cannot even sympathize briefly with the families of the fallen SAF officers. It is truly despicable, especially for the commander-in-chief,” Ridon said.

Ridon said that the President’s absence during Thursday’s ceremony at the Villamor Air Base “only heightens the people’s disgust in this spineless leader who let his own men go to battle for the sake of his own vanity, only to disown the whole plan and deny accountability in the end.”

"But since the two officials in the chain of command were absent and kept out of the loop, the SAF had no choice but to report to the PNP chief, who at the time of the operations, was under suspension due to charges of graft and corruption, he said."

It was a breakdown of chain of command to begin with, and the guy who is culpable for it is none other than the president himself. He didn't use the proper channels. Instead, the dumb@$$ bypassed the DILG, when his sole objective is to have everybody on the same page, including the DND CoC to the AFP. Nya if the operation was a success, si Mar ang ma credit since this is a PNP headed op. Those men lost their lives over the pettyness of the balding idiot in Malacanang.

Bai uyon man unta ko og all-out-war pero murag nakonsensya ko after ni nako nabasahan.

    "Ayrie Ching
"Gusto mo ng "all-out war?"

War is just an equalizer not a solution.

Not good. Not Good at all.

Just give peace a chance. One solution is talking about it.
