Lots of hotels and malls under construction. But once they're all completed and once they all start to tap into the power grid for their enormous electricity needs, will the supply be enough? Or are we going to start to see rotational brownouts?
Road rehabilitation everywhere. But then again, didn't someone posted the thread Dalan nga tarong gub-on para makaproject? Meaning to say, before-and-after-road-construction really wouldn't make much of a difference...except that the public is made to suffer the inconvenience for several months, as politicians and contractors milk the most money from the delays and substandard work.
Mactan Airport to become "world-class"? Yeah right. They rejected the bid from Changi (the world's best airport winner for several years) and awarded the project to an Indian company that's mired in lawsuits. So what happened next wasn't a surprise. They increased the already overpriced terminal fees. Can we really expect "world-class standard" airport operation from MCIAA? Or are they going to reinforce the locally popular reputation that's encapsulated in the phrase "ONLY IN THE PHILIPPINES"?
