    thats what i do almost everyday..

    1GB is 1GB , no matter how much virtual memory u set...KULANG.

    dream memory? 8gb - 16gb on 64bit OS

    so far 1gb is enough for the apps that i run but sa akoa rapud na ...
    btw i'm running xp so dili jud kaau bug-at compared sa vista...
    pro if nag awas2x ako kwarta of course upgrade jud ko 2gb..

    gamaya ra gud kaon sa imo ram bro.

    ang ako kay 800mb naman gani ang kabhak basta mag silkroad+winamp+internet browsing ko.. how much more kung mag download pako ug uban pa na apps...

    im currently using winxp home.

    try to do some tweaking bro..
    simple types of tweaks are disabling your start up apps, disable services(MSCONFIG) that your not running
    mao ni common why ig start nimo sa imo pc dako na kaau ma consume sa imo ram
    currently as im typing i have 3 tabs in firefox, bitcomet downloading on the background, YM, chikka,
    bluetooth, Kasperksky & counterspy updating, watching movie using VLC but still it's using 511mb of ram...

    almost 300mb ang kabhak sa ram nako inig on sa ko PC.
    -system tray ----> AVG ra gyud
    -services ----> ad-aware, avg service(4), machine debug manager, nvidia display driver. [all microsoft services are hidden]

    gaan na kau ni.avg is about 5% of ur cpu resources even at full

    mine kay mu register more or less mga 600mb out of my 2gb....disabled unnecessary xp services, running Vista Sidebar, Google Desktop, Yahoo Widgets, YM, Firefox (8 tabs average), IE7 (i run it automatically at startup), NOD32, aero WindowBlinds theme, RkLauncher, MS Outlook, and some tiny apps.
