personally, i believe it doesnt matter.

Its not the religion per se, its what you believe in and how you express it.
Kung mamugos jud ka sa imong pagtuo, wala na ayo. Ang importante ra ana nga you do good to others.

    Default religion: does it matter?

my fiance asked me to marry him pero he's catholic and i'm protestant. the guy's parents want us to marry in church. my parents want us to be married by a pastor.... and worse, my parents want him to be converted first before we tie the knot..

any suggestion would be much appreciated..

religion is not an issue, your praising d same name, but in different ways,

I heard more than my fair share of couples whose marriages went awry because they had different faiths to start with.

actually no matter how you defend, and deny things, we do know that one or the other it will and can create dispute between couple. and it had been proven time and again.

yes there are or were couples that had comeup with their solution, however still, one way or the other, contradiction is very much present. like for instance...baptismal of the child. to what religion? remember, that not only both couples should be considered. how about the parents/extend family of each party? actually there's whole lot of things to be considered.

when the child is growing, what are going to teach him catholic faith or baptist, or what? the ideal is if religion really plays a big role in your relationship, the family should have one religion. otherwise, i think both couple must talked about this seriously before anything else.
