Default DELL Studio 1535 ( restore BIOS setup factory settings)

    Hi istoryans,

Nahan lang ko mahibaw if unsa another option to restore factory settings sa DELL Studio Inspiron BIOS setup.
Naa na koy nakit-an sa DELL website pero naa man problema.

How to restore the BIOS (System Setup) defaults on a Dell system

    1. Power on the system.
    2. While the blue Dell logo is visible, press the < F2 > key to enter the System Setup.
    3. Press the < Num Lock > key, and verify that the Num Lock light is on.
    4. Press the < Caps Lock > key, and verify that the Caps Lock light is on.
    5. Press the < Scroll Lock > key, and verify that the Scroll Lock light is on. The lights on the keyboard should all be illuminated as in Figure 1.
    6. Press the < Alt >+< F > keys at the same time. The system will beep as the setup defaults are restored.
    7. Press the < Alt >+< B > keys at the same time to restart the system. The changes are automatically saved.

Ang problem is on #5 , there's no <scroll lock> available in Dell Keyboard. Even if mag external keyboard kay and <scroll lock> key dili mo function.

Any advise kay ma appreciate jud na nako ug sa uban naa pud problem ani.

    Many thanks istoryans!

The other way is by removing and then reinstalling the CMOS Battery. Clearing CMOS will reset your BIOS settings to their factory default. In this case, you will really need to open your laptop for you to remove the CMOS Battery.

By the way, what happened to your laptop why do you need to reset your BIOS settings to factory default?

actually after diagnostic, there's an error 0146 and as suggested by dell support was to restore BIOS to factory settings.
