As thousands paid tribute to Juan Flavier, this one humble message left his own family speechless
One humble tribute scribbled at the back of the guest list to Flavier's wake underscored just how far-reaching Flavier's programs were. The former barrio doctor's youngest son, James, was so moved by the letter that he snapped a picture of it and posted it on his Facebook page.

Naka witness gyud ko iya mga programs before when I was in Elementary. Oplan Sagip Mata, libre gyud tanan from eye operation costs, medicine, to Out patient services. Naa patong free Bolgur sa mga malnourished nga mga bata. Free Binignit, free pandesal sa mga public elementary schools. Naa pa gardening programs niya. MAKPE (Malugngay, Alugbati, Kangkong, Pechay) Dapat tanan schools ug balay naa ani nga mga plants.
Hands down, one of the greatest public servants I have seen in my childhood days. Traits we see rarely today.
