gen. almonte is entitiled to his opinion, as i am too and everyone else in this thread. we have different understanding on the topic here. By common definition an elite would mean rich people. In my own STUPID understanding, as moderntribe have referred to it, elites are the ones who are influential enough to turn the outcomes of our economy. they are the ones backing and financing our politicians in winning the elections. they are the ones who are powerful enough to manipulate everything. even the outcome of the president and many public officials.

i adhere to "sovereignty resides with the people and all government authorities emanate from them" but try to look around. aren't we a capitalist nation, we depend greatly on investors and big time businessman from lucio tan to cojuangco.

unless a country is communist or socialist, thus one could only consider it to be run completely by the proletariats. Oh Thou Marxist dream!

Now then, which country is not greatly influenced with investors, elites, businessman..? america? italy? great britain? japan?

I think you have a good point there. Thats is the reallity and it hurts as individual Filipinos financially. To solve a problem we must go back to the root of the problem, and the author did, and because of that we see what is going on and we debate. Fine.

The author saw it and was surprise. We are surprise as well, and we debate about it, because some of us cannot confront reallity. They confront the Threader instead. BUt it does not help even if we kill each other here, or be little each other inthis thread.

Reallity is, yes elites run the Philippines, They are not even 100% filipinos. They choke every common Filipinos by monopolizing. Many countries are run by elites as well but they dont choke their own country men like elites in the Philippines do. They are elites and that is not theyre problem if they are wiser than us. Its just a sad reallity to comfront.

What do we do? or i would suggest we do? Levelling the Playing Field.

be creative enough, define yourself from the crowd coz in this way you can establish yourself and one must be realistic enough that life is always unfair. but if you have a possitive outlook in life things would be fair. Ang buhay kc subjective yan. It all depends on how you manage it and the moment ma appreciate nimo ang life you'll notice nga life is too short ra d i to waste it on asking the government to do their job wherein you yourself is not helping yourself.

now on levelling your playing field ..how my answer? be possitive and be opportunistic.. there's plenty to life than cursing. like me... am always on the rush na .. why? i noticed life was too short for me to waste it on pity fights and debates over a spilled glass of milk. I'd rather discuss business or opportunities in life over a cup of coffee or read a book than asking why elites ra ang ga rule or why are they so ineffective of ruling our country..

this is the question that challenge my poor brain when I was connected with my previous company before.. this was thrown by our CFO who possess the name of the company. "who se's life is fair"........ if you are to ask me what type of leader he is to us employees or to our skilled workers.. bisan pag ingana sya nga leader damn salute ming tanan niya.. his good great.. the best boss so far nga akong na encounter.. he shares.. bonuses 3x imong monthly salary.. mapuno ka sa cono, bullshit, ****.. and everything yet.. we employees dont get offended coz we accepte it already its part of him .. and coupled with it is ang iyang pag ka sharing.. his so good at everyting.. i was even ****d up in front of the execs with i presented my presentation but.. t'was normal. everybody laugh at it including.. so what i learnd then... there's no utopia.... event sa management side walay utopia. j. welch was great, jobs was great but.. there fund of belittling there partners or employees yet still their stocks are skyrocketing...

now whats the connection these guys stand out from the crowd because they were so optemistic about life..
