There is a difference between "life-time" imprisonment and "life" imprisonment. I think, TS, you were confused whether they are the same or not. The former speaks of imprisonment until you died in your cell while the latter refers to life imprisonment which by law is defined as 20-40 years imprisonment. It is called such because basically spending this long in prison is somewhat "life long" already but it doesn't mean to be imprisoned until you die in your cell. I have the same question before but i was able to dissect the difference by how the words were used in the context.
