I'm still trying to get my head around the concept. There's one Alien... if you come into direct contact with it you will die... okay, so sort of like evading the Ubermorph in Dead Space, except for the entire game?

Bad execution. IGN hated it. Kotaku loved it. Playing Outlast was better.
