May is actually the magic month for a vacation in bohol.

Starting may 1 onwards magsunod2x and mga fiesta starting with tagbilaran on may 1 then goes to other mga lungsod/syudad sa bohol.

Bohol does not seem to stop to amaze me.

While busy doing other documentary film projects, a long letter from Duero just got delivered, detailing a beautiful subject every documentary filmmaker will love to do.

It said there is this community (not the Isakaya) of "anak-araw" or "anak sa engkanto" isolated between the Iskayas and the town proper. Their livelihood is farming spicies (bell pepper, hot chilies, etc.). My interest was whetted when I was told of their legends and songs. When I will have the opportunity, I will definitely have the story of this community filmed.

I have been to Duero when I was doing "Call of the Tower" for the National Commission for Culture and the Arts. The Duero Catholic Church is the only church I have seen that is made entirely of wood. But my curiousity was further aroused when I was led to a "small" burial ground not far from this church --- small in the sense that the largest tomb I was able to see was not any larger than a family size bottle of a cola drink. Then there were a few remant of the old Santa Felomina cult --- women devoted to the decanonized martyr.

Bohol indeed is a place to unlearn many notion of a place.

actually i have relatives in tagbilaran, but my mother hails from Lila.

BOHOL is really COOL, we went there last month and well get back there tomorrow and well have a tour to panglao, loboc river, hinagdanan and hopefully in balicasag island...dunno if i spell it ryt!!hehehe...anyway check out our cool pics at bohol in my friendster blog...
