Also, Malaysia is very hostile to Western Nations. Just Google PM Mahatir attacks on the US and other European Nations, he lobbied to block Australian entry to ASEAN. So if i were an investor, should i open an office to a very hostile country ? Dont think so.
Lack of government support ? - really now Aegis ?? how much did you save while you were operating under the PEZA environment ? You enjoy VAT free operation for how many years, meaning if you import or bought an item it will be VAT free.
Inadequate infrastructure ? - PLDT and GLOBE over the years have double their fiber optic interconnection from Manila to other parts of the country like Cebu, Iloilo, Bacolod, Davao and even Palawan. You notice that those mentioned city are leading in the BPO sites here in the Philippines ? We have at least 6 high speed Fiber Optic gateway going out to the rest of the world.
Crime - check the data, Malaysia street crime is as worst as the Philippines.
