Have to agree. Nara gyud na sa diskarte sa tao.

Ako nigraduate ko sa USC-main but I spent more time at 64MB or playing against the world in Battlenet, representing the PH in international tournies (brood war) and I dreamed of bringing the korean version of "pro-gaming" here for the longest period too. Even went to the hospital like 3x because I forgot to eat.

Now, I own one of the biggest (in terms of ad spend handled) filipino-owned digital advertising firms in the world.

you can't take away the boy in a man, as they say.

    OT:

I hate they picks of MSI pag 3rd game vs MVP.

Hello nakitan nako imo comment a while back but I wanted to give it the proper attention in hopes that you will read this with an open mind.

I like to liken eSports as the grass roots of technology and the digital culture. It is one way for the youth to be exposed to the digital culture with the hopes that they will embrace technology and use it one day to uplift their lives. True eSports, video games or even any sports and hobbies in general can have its negative impact. But I feel it is best that we provide guidance rather than shy away from it. Why? If we leave it alone on its own, eSports will continue to happen with or without our guidance and if you leave it to the capitalist world. Publishers or other entities will just take it upon themselves in a manner that will derive the most profit for them without relegating much to the positive aspects of gaming.

I for one can vouch that gaming has strong positive benefits that has made an important impact in my life. I am one of those who was into competitive gaming in the Starcraft Broodwar days. The discipline in training and the mental toughness you build up in having to compete long hours in stressful environments went a long way to helping me today be a competitive athlete in physical sports such as Ironman triathlon events where it's the mental toughness that allows me to place in the upper 10% of a 2,000+ participants. And it's the decision making and mental toughness that allows me to oversee multiple organizations some with over 600 employees under my responsibility. It has also given me aspirations to be able to dream of breaking a Guiness record and actually achieving it back in 2010. I can definitely say eSports has helped me with all of this.
With me perhaps being a parent sometime soon in the future. If you would ask me if I would steer clear my kids from eSports and gaming? Definitely not. I will nurture it and provide guidance to maximize on the positive benefits as a family and steer clear on the negative impacts rather than shun it and let them on their own. And that's what we want to do with PeSO and with these events.

    In regards to this comment.
"di gehapon ko convinced kay biased ra kaayo ang tourney gamay ra ang foreign teams involved so sureball jud maka semis ang mga pinoy teams. ang invited sad kay dili kaayo mga bigatin nga asian teams except for mvp phoenix"

The team slots were chosen by IeSF. Since India and Vietnam couldn't make it last minute IeSF decided to put in 2 more slots for the Philippines. Each country held their own qualifier to select the team that will represent them in the Asian Championship. I hope this clears it for you.

    Regarding this comment
"pangit location gamay.. hoot... tapos open space.. maka dungog ra ang gaduwa sa Caster.

ebalhin unta nila location kanang open. daun big screen."

What location would you prefer? We wanted the CICC but it's not available as of this time. We do have a proposal for an open location but it's in Manila. If you are playing in the stage match which the games is being casted we were using Noise Cancelling headphones which is the norm for other big events like LoL tourneys etc. In regards sa big screen murag mao na gyud to best ma kaya sa budget. I don't know how else bigger you want it than a 9x12ft LED wall.

And in regards to this post:

You must be misinformed. During the eSports event, there was high level talks with a diplomat from Korea the president of the International eSports Federation who is the floor majority leader in Korea and could very well run for President of Korea. It was a closed door meeting between him IeSF officials, PeSO Chairman, The Secretary General of the Philippine Olympic Committee, Cebu City vice mayor Edgar Labella in representation for Mayor Michael Rama and Cebu City Sports Commission Chairman Edward Hayco who all had serious discussion on how to nurture eSports and reap the positive benefits from it. Including further discussions with former Cong. Pichay who is a BOD for the Philippine Olympic Committee.

Sorry but your saying of Grown Ups does not care about DOTA2 or eSports is just akin to cliche quote that IMMATURE: A way boring people use to describe fun people. - Sorry but couldn't help it since you were tactless enough sa imu statement.

    Cheers,

    PeSO
    Brian
