wow talk about Linux fanboys. If I wanted Linux to be like Windows, I'd use Windows. Thank you. Spare me the fanboy speech, I have used Linux and open source as long if not longer than many of you. The only difference is, I use the best tools to do the job and they are NOT always Linux. Windows does some things a lot better than Windows and vice versa.

As for cost, up front cost does not reflect the real cost of Linux. How do you think Linux companies stay afloat? On donations? pfft!

I agree... Linux is very nice if you are a certified linux user and a programmer... you can do a lot but if a person is just an average computer which most people are chances are Linux will be very hard..

Di ko linux certified user ug programmer. Labaw nang di ko brayt. Learned Linux 6 months ago. Wa man jud ko lisori sa Linux. Right now, im making this post using Linux Puppy 2.17. I prefer Puppy tungod sa iyang speed ug dili pod dali madaot imo hard drive kay ang tibuok OS giload man sa RAM(wa ju'y siga siga ang HDD LED). Aron pag start sa Linux Puppy, ako lang gisaksak ako USB flash drive, reboot. Sa Puppy na dayon ko. What i do in Windows i do in Puppy in half the time. Running Firefox for example takes less than 1 second and webpages open faster. Ambot lang sa inyo, basta sa akoa mas sayon ang Linux kaysa Windows.


I'm still triple-booting with Windows (and Ubuntu 7.04) though tungod sa Adobe Photoshop (wa pay color separation ang GIMP).

So wa jud ayo nang fanboyism. Simple lang man gud na. I use what works (or what's best) for me.

As for Microsoft's Windows EULA...aww lain na nang istorya. Wa jud ko'y positive nga ikasulti niana kay unfair kaayo ila EULA sa mga users.

i used ubuntu linux before about a year ago in our work, i can say its good, its fast for business but not on leisure time... got a lot of problems doing windows games :P

there's this one time that i installed ubuntu on my personal pc at home, and after just got everything updated and ready to use, i reformatted it back to windows since im craving in playing my favorite games in windows :P
that was a hell of a waste of my time gyud :P

for me, i think it would be good for business/development work only
and ahh less virus diay, so far i haven't been infected with it :mrgreen:

about linspire, never got to hold on it pa...
