But Spain is also a more cohesive unit.

The americans were never really tested in the World Cup and they probably sent their "Team C"

The only time the USA got embarrassed in the world stage is when they didn't take their basketball seriously. Remember Vlade Divac ang Yugoslavia eliminating them in the quarterfinals in 2002 and then the bronze medal finish in the Olympics?
