The thing is it is allowed in the sport unless the sport's governing bodies do something about it, then we have to get used to that, wa tay mahems, Clinching is all but part of boxing for now

Unless you want to separate boxing part by part, frame by frame, then you can argue that clinching cannot be part of boxing. But you have to look at it from the whole experience. As it is, there is no penalty in the rule book for clinching(well unless you do too much of it), and it is but part of the whole thing as is the separation of two players from a clinch. I still have to see a boxer who has never clinched an opponent in his career. And for the record, I am no Floyd fan. But I must admit in the last fight versus Maidana, I was impressed by how much he avoided punishment even when Maidana had him cornered or on the ropes, Maidana never connected any solid combinations in that fight.
