i think mutuo ko ani, kay i have a grand father who related to us that he once saw a "dewende" when he was still young. and mutuo jud ko niya kay dili siya ang tipo nga maghimo2x og istorya o magbinuang. he's the type of person that is usually serious, and also a disciplinarian...

anyway, what he told us was that when he was still young he was leading his horse (or kabaw ba kaha to? di nako kahinumdum hehe) somewhere in the forrest near their house in Negros. he was looking for a stream so that the horse/ water buffalo could drink. he was unprepared to see what he saw. a very small man playing in the stream! and he was dressed exactly like the dwarves we see in children's storybooks. in the blink of an eye, though, the creature disappeared.

he never forgot that. he's now very old pero he still insists that he really saw a "dewende".

My friend who is a barangay captain (still, one of the youngest) in a downtown Cebu City barangay still insists, after almost 25 years, that Jack Lord, the character in Hawaii Five-0, went to his house on a very ordinary day just to use the telephone. Of course, when he related the story to us when we were still in U.P High School, we just laughed at the absurdity. Up to now, whenever we are together, which is still quite often, we still laugh at it to his chagrin 'coz he continues to swear it was true.

What do you think? Should we believe him because he still insists it was true and that he is not the type to make up dumb stories?

You can simply say that you disagree, must you resort to insults?

Oh, boy! You call that an insult? What did you expect people to say? That they don't believe that your grandpa really saw a duwende? Or that they don't believe in duwendes at all? Either way, that would make your grandpa a liar. Wouldn't that give you more reason to get pissed?

Goodness. If you are too delicate, you should stay away from forums especially those discussing the absurd and the ridiculous.
