OnT : reading the paper this morning, na the Philippine peacekeepers were able to find its way out is something i'm proud about. much more that it was rumored that the philippine contigent are army's special forces... then its something, its reassuring that our own afp can pull out something like that.. with the aid of IDF.

He was hoping that the Fijians would be given quarter if the Filipinos didn't resist. What he doesn't know is that this is a terrorist organization, they do not abide to conventions nor are they known for keeping their captives alive. Sakto rajud nga ilang i-investigate ning Indian general.

I'm sure in a firefight dili gyud ta paalkansi, pero daghan gyud ang ISIS naa pa tingale rocket propelled grenades, mortars, o tingale howitzers, mas maayo naka-ikyas na ang atong mga sundalo.

nah, UNDOF isn't at a combat capacity over there. sure they can return fire but they can't sustain a prolonged engagement with another force. Mura ra silag tripwire in the buffer zone between Syria and Israel. They got their job done, zero casualties, zero POWs, and with their hardware.

India's history has nothing to do with his decision. It's not really a shame to be conquered by Alexander the Great ... considering that they were the ones who stopped him. It's not really a shame to be conquered by the Mongols since everyone bent their know, and yes the Indians did also stop the Mongols from pushing through the entire subcontinent. It's not really a shame to be conquered by the British when half the world was owned by the British. They aren't really "receiving onslaught" from Pakistan. India is far and away the more successful state. Nobody won the Sino-Indian War ... both sides lost ... no one gained. So with that said, you wouldn't want to discuss the history of Filipino military accomplishments do you? So let's not rant about an entire civilization much older than the Philippines and how one man's decision somehow reflects on the entire country.

Sounds (and looks) like Lt. General Singh Singha is a Sikh, or part Sikh. These guys are renowned as ferocious fighters throughout India's history. Which makes it all the more strange that he ordered soldiers to surrender without a fight.
