What is the sense of making a scripture so hard to understand? Is your lord selective and tries to weed out literates from illiterates? And how about those that can't read?

I read a verse somewhere that scriptures are supposed to be clear and easy to understand but I doubt it. We would have never had this thread if that is the case.

does it mean i'm tired? hehehehe..

and besides, the Genesis creation accounts from the Catholic Perspective is understood allegorically or in metaphors..
confusions and contradictions surface when everything is taken literally especially when we shouldn't.
Here is a definition of "rest" I found on the net,

Cease work or movement in order to relax, refresh oneself, or recover strength.

For me, when your god made this scripture, asa man diay niya gi direct d ba sa inyo? Nganong lahi2x man tag huna2x bahin sa rest? Try daw pag census diha sa inyong silingan unsay pasabot sa rest nila

So you acknowledge there are some "sagolan" ug dili mao. So unsa man ang mahitabo atong mga audience niya nga "corrupted" man kaha tong iyang gipang tudlo?

This is the part ngano dili ko kasabot nganong mo agi paman ug usa ka tawo ang inyong pagtoo. Ngano man diay ug direct mo mo sampit niya.

for those who cannot read? that didn't seem to bother Christians from the 1st to 3rd century...
that's why the Church values oral traditions evident through history and the writings of those who observed them just as much as the written ones...especially in defininf Christian Doctrine Orthodoxy.

Scriptures are not necessarily hard to understand bai. sometimes people would just refuse to understand..

like the genesis flood, through scriptures would suggest that the flood was something global..nowhere in archaeology would show that there was a global flood..massive ones perhaps in the mesopotamian area..ergo the flood was just local..
but the author said the entire earth was covered with water..well is it not possible that the author was rather expressing what he sees and know? ikaw daw bai, ibutang ka sa tunga sa dagat without visible sight of dry land..now assume that you have the same knowledge with people in the days of Noah or even Moses...wouldn't you assume that the entire earth is indeed covered with flood?

perhaps you'd argue so sayop diay tong giingun sa Bible? Nope...ang sayop when we take everything literally esp when we shouldn't.

All powerful man kaha ang ginoo, he can read thoughts, kibaw unsay color sa imong kasing2x ug uban pa.

Ug moingon pud mog buang ang tawo dili kasabot then, your god must have known nga buang siya, and will not expect more from him right? After all your god is full of understanding right?

pero kung di ka kapuyon..but you decided to take a break anyway...it's another story...
especially if taking a break is with a purpose other than involuntary fatigue..unsay giingon sa bible, God rested to make the Sabbath Holy...
since you love to take everything literally, lemme ask you..did the Bible say that God rested 'cause he got tired...? No...
God rested to make the Sabbath Holy...

so if i would rest after doing the laundry, and assume that i am someone like God who does not get tired...
then the definition of rest from someone who gets tired is not necessarily the same with the person who does not get tired...
ergo i wasn;t tired with the laundry stuff but i rested anyway to watch TV...not to regain my strength or for any other rejuvenating reasons...but just to watch TV.. and besides, do you know the EXACT word used in that scripture? perhaps the english word "rest" is just the closest word for interpretation...see? sayon ra diba? no contradiction.. pero kung gusto jud nimu nga mag contradict..aw imoha pud na...hehehehe
