Default The Martial heritage of the Cebuanos

The term kali is pure bullshit! It is not the mother of the Filipino Martial Arts, neither was it invented by the Moros of Mindanao. Eskrima is the mother of the Filipino Martial Arts and it was invented purely by the Cebuanos. go to this site and you will find out why:

Philippine History from the FMA Warrior’s Perspective (1900-1909).

    1900 –

Gregorio del Pilar, the youngest general in the Revolutionary Army, took a firm last stand with a handful of men and held off American troops at Tirad Pass long enough for Aguinaldo to escape.

    1901 –

Mar: Aguinaldo was captured and made to sign a personal oath of allegiance to the United States. Aguinaldo’s presidency ends.

Jul: When Congress ordered the withdrawal of all volunteer regiments, the U.S. Administration in Manila established the Philippine Constabulary as a mobile police force. After several months, the U.S. Army inducted its local contingents of Filipino troops into a unified force later called the Philippine Scouts.

28 Sep: Two Hundred (200) knife-wielding Filipino guerillas attacked Company C of the Ninth Infantry at Balangiga Port, Samar Island. The Ninth Infantry was an American regiment with recent combat experience in Cuba (189, Manila (1899), and China (1900). Although equipped with standard issue Krag rifles and .38 caliber Colt revolvers, Company C was demolished, save for two dozen men, at the hands of the bolo-wielding Filipinos.

    1902 –

Jul: War ended. There were only 15,500 U.S. Army troops, forcing the 11,000 Filipino soldiers in the Scouts and Constabulary to shoulder a substantial share of the ongoing pacification.

    1903 –

    1904 –

    1905 –

The American Regime opened the Constabulary Academy.

The balisong was first constructed in Batangas, Philippines by Perfecto de Leon.

    1906 –

    Battle of Bud Dajo.

    1907 –

The fledgling Costabulary School at Manila graduated its first Filipino Officers from a three-month training course and then moved to permanent quarters in the mountain city of Baguio for a more rigorous six-month curriculum.

Maragtas is copyrighted as local history of Panay by Pedro Alcantara Monteclaro.

    1908 –

The U.S. Congress authorized the admission of Filipinos to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. While these Filipino cadets would experience the full military curriculum, their commissions were restricted to service in the Philippine Scouts.
