US President Barack Obama has said that Russia is “more isolated than at any time since the Cold War” as he pledged continued support for Ukraine.

A senior NATO official last night confirmed that “well over a thousand” Russian troops were operating inside Ukraine, as satellite imagery was released showing Russian artillery units moving through Ukrainian territory.
