Are old and used cars OK?

Good afternoon mga istoryans,

ask lang unta kog feedback ninyo about kanang mga karaan na cars kung kinsa na nakasuway dira, if recommended ba. plano ko mopalit ug kanang mga karaan gud like 1990 - early 2000's na model ba mga 100k - 200k range lang gani?

Boss, ipang dp na lng sa bnew car imung 100-200k kysa mag 2nd hand ka nga labad sa ulo gasto and guba sakyann. bcn mgpangawot ka sa imung ulo nga wa'y katol hehe.. pong pa sa usa ka istoryan dri nga pgkahalin sa 2nd hand car, ang seller daw naibtan tunok while ang buyer nasunogan lol, w/c is true pd bya!

Agreed. The disadvantages outweigh the advantages in buying used cars. But this depends upon your budget.

The fact is, you are buying a vehicle that someone else has owned and driven. You don't know how it's been driven or how well it's been cared for. A used vehicle will almost certainly require maintenance and possibly expensive repairs sooner than a new one, and those repairs probably won't be covered by a warranty.

I would definitely go for used cars, there are some that have been taken cared of. But as always, after buying, bring the car to a reputable shop to get EVERYTHING checked and conditioned.

One of the advantages of having a used car from a financial standpoint is that you don't pay as much "depreciation cost" as a brand new one when you finally decide to sell it later. Plus the parts are mostly cheaper since there will be replacement parts (non-OEM) available on the market.

Old and used cars are OK, but not great. Better TS if magpalit ka ug car ky kanang sa kaila nmo, or from someone you know nga maayo muamping ug sakyanan. But always spare a portion of your income for car maintenance and repair.
Some brand new vehicles also encounter problems earlier than expected pd baya especially if the owners don't know how to take good care of them. Although less expense sa brand new vehicles if magpa ayo(of course, dpnde sa parts nga maguba), the hassle of bringing your car to the shop is the same.
Don't forget to bring a TRUSTED mechanic if you will check your target vehicle. And of course, buy a used vehicle nga dghan ra ug available nga mga parts dri sa Cebu. hehehe

well if you`re fun of D-I-Y mas malingaw ka sa secondhand, way challenge ang brand new kay walay kuri kuri-on, depende ra gyud na sa tawo, kung di ka hilig ug D-I-Y or dirty jobs ayaw na lang gyud kay kada lihuk nimo bayad sa nag ayo, i sum up tanan maypay magpalit na lang ug brand new....

so far so good ra man, basta naa lang kay kaila nga mekaniko ug time for repairs, tune-up, etc.

be cautious lang jd pirme, read forums like diri sa istorya and dont hesitate to ask questions from boss vernie! hehe

if you know what to check in buying used cars it's ok. naka 3 nako sa used cars before karon nangita na pd ko hehe and wala may problem except sa alignment ug gamayng kalampag. pero bisan pag kahibaw na ta mo check sa used car, mas maayo gyud mangita ug 'daily driven' and as much as possible ang tag-iya kahibaw mo kuri2 sa iyang car. ayaw palit tawn anang 'lady driven'. hehe
