Erythromycin is an antibiotic. Antibiotics are for bacterial infection as opposed to Antivirals which are for viral infections.

Based on the scenario, your GF might be having an allergic reaction to the drug, which is rare because it's usually prescribed for patients sensitive to allergens.

Please don't self-medicate as this is the most common problem with people nowadays. Go and let her have another check-up with her physician. Depending on your residence, you could go to a public health hospital (e.g. VSMMC or CCMC) where you belong to. The doctor will then prescribe another antibiotic. Although primarily, aside from a physical check-up, the doctor will have her undergo a blood test to check the causative agent.

Caveat. Any advice given by random people online may lead to adverse reactions and eventual death. Consultations medical in nature should only be done with licensed physicians.

    Thank you for the response.

She is not self-medicating but she is asking from different professionals after feeling the side effect of the prescribed drug.
We are planning to go back to her doc but of course we cannot do it now. She says the pain is intolerable so we were looking for other solutions applicable.

UPDATE: I called a friend, a licensed pharmacist. She went over my gf's room in chong hua minutes ago. Other than that I have no other knowledge of what is happening now. I hope she is OK

    No problem bro.

The rash itself is just a symptom or a manifestation of the main culprit. It can be treated through a lukewarm bath, keeping the area cool, and anti-itch creams containing 1% hydrocortisone cream can be effective.

Pending a visit to a physician, I suggest she stops the intake of the drug and avoid allergenic food.
