Kinsa kaha ang pulihan ni lee sa line.up for world cup kung madala mn jd siya. Haha. Nice mn si lee pero turn.over prone lang sad.
I didn't bother watching it after I've watched them for a couple of games with tons of TOs and shooting bricks. They've BARELY won this game vs China's B squad, the same team on a tune-up game that got beat by Italy with only 3 players cuz most of their players fouled-out.
Nice win, nonetheless.
What a game! Naka remember ko katong time nila Olsen vs China .. nabali lng ron! hahaha Congrats Gilas! (y)
kong makapilde na tas iran murag arang arang na lang kay ang iran karon ang yardstick sa asian basketball ,sila na ang nagdominate sa asian basketball landscape
Personally I did not like Fonacier, dili jud ko ganahan sa iya nawong sapoton ko mura ug kabayo.. hahahaha.. But removing him from the pool would be a big mistake for chot. He is a decent defender for 1,2,3 position and a legitimate shooter. More or less mas maayo si Tenorio or David ang pulihan ni Paul Lee.
Congrats Gilas! First podium finish in the FIBA Asia Cup after being denied twice by Qatar in the 3rd place game for 2 straight occasions.
Some notes:
1. This was a team being experimented on by Reyes. 6 players from the Silver medal squad in the FIBA Asia were not present and are missed badly by the team: the energy of a Marc Pingris, the lockdown defense of a Gabe Norwood, the blur of a Jason Castro, the shooting of both Jeff Chan and Larry Fonacier, and the leadership and clutch of Jimmy Alapag.
2. Paul Lee is a revelation and with consistent performance in this tournament, he might just have increased his chances for inclusion in the lineup for the World Cup
3. I am expecting Dray Blatche to be a more dominant presence than Marcus Douthit and I hope he will be as Filipinized as Douthit was so he will also be endeared to Pinoy fans
4. As usual, size is a problem for us but we fought through it. This is where Greg Slaughter would have been valuable. Junmar Fajardo was tested here as well especially against Iran where he had to play extended minutes because of Douthit's foul trouble. I am hoping he can use this experience to further improve.
It could've been Gold if those players that were supposed to be on Gilas played on this tourney. Blatche would've killed Haddadi on the court while other just focus on not giving Jamshidi and Yakchali some good shots.
Since Douthit is most likely won't be included for the FIBA World Cup, Dalistan was the other player who stepped-up his game throughout this tournament. He deserves to be on the slot.
Last night's game against China was one of the best moments in bball.
I thought we lost the game but thanks to the three FTs with no time on
the clock, we totally nailed it! I can imagine this Chinese bball player
mouthing some curse words after the lost shot lols...
Great game Pinas![]()
