A "Switch" alone is called a "switching hub". c",) a switch is different from hub.
In other words, say for instance you had a network of 5 PCs and a server all connected with 10Mbps UTP cable, with a hub the throughput (10Mbps) would be shared between each device, with a switch each device could utilise the full 10Mbps connection.

by the way, I am referring to a switch hub not a network hub, as all we know that HUB is the interconnecting node of network which them act as a single segment. Switch Hub = Switch (somewhat)

Daghan man bro. Personal use? LinkSys is good, but if you can afford, go for Cisco.
