usually on forums, when the same question is being asked over and over again, a sticky regarding that question is often created...
i am not targeting you or anyone in particular, it's just i saw 3 threads about anti-virus questions in one page when i posted my reply.

bro eversince grabe ko mo gamit ug norton pero mo nihay jud ako computer... ambot kaha karon 2007 na nga version..im also running on a new Pc mansad... im also a user og AVG mga 2 yrs ko gamit nice pud dali ra kaau dili dako ug kuha sa imo system usage... pero dili lng kaau maaasahan when it comes to trojans... i also like AVAST same as AVG ako tan-aw niya mas arangan pa gani gamay AVG... i tried several weeks sa nod32... okay rapud kaau cya... more or less mas better pa cya sa AVG and AVAST... but when iv tried KASPERSKY, that's the time nga completely nibalhin judko... naa ko mga CD dri sa balay daghan kaay ug mga virus ang kaspersky rajud pnakadaghan nadetect...hinuon nakadetect pud ang nod32 pero dili daghan... best ang kaspersky... tro google it... u can see the stats...mostly sa europe kaspersky man... my german cousin said and my cousin who is married to a french guy confirmed it... grabe daw KASPERSKY sa europe... although daghan sa norton user... ambot lng jud unsa tinuod...but i think naa sad sila point...just try it first naa man mga trial ana nga ma download ra nimo... halos every hour naay updates...HOURLY UPDATES jud... usually ang uban antivirus dili hourly mag update...

thanks sa input guys. i was trying most of the the antivirus. they say NOD32 is good, but the way I see it, it has false positives. It can see the trojans but cannot eliminate and that would be lame for an antivirus. some anti virus hits our winsocks and thats why our internet connection sometimes fails or worst...dead. i had encountered one malware or antivirus which is named trojan backdoor. funny though coz u know ur internet connection is working but cannot connect. one last lame option is reformat and that would be tedious..hehehehe so what i did is gather some tools like hijack this and kill box, then i found the culprit exe. i used norton's stinger and used winsock fix.

so in one point, not one antivirus is better than the other coz it has its own capabilities. so i think one should be well equipped with tools and enough understanding on how viruses behave. im now using AVG and zone alarm as my protection againsta the net....

..and bro..norton sucks.....so if u will be using kaspersky, ur harwdware should be compatible... naa ka free ana kaspersky bro??

buddy!! its not a false positive but rather it detects it and delete the infected file but after you reboot it comes back,, heres the explanation.. NOD32 is a bit better than those resource hug AV's.. but it doesnt delete it.. it comes back because its has a rootkit inside that NOD32 doenst have.. AVG Pro on the otherhand good but the way i dont like it is its GUI is horrible...
