unsay new rn sa trade sa pba? especially sa smb?
Alaska has won another championship in the PBA after 7 years of long wait. A curious and interesting mix of veterans, many of whom were journeymen accomplished the feat this time, led by the wily Willie "Thriller" Miller and hardworking, team-playing, all-around import Rosell Ellis. Still coached by one of the PBA's winningest coach Tim Cone and assisted by ex-players Bong Hawkins, Jojo Lastimosa and Dickie Bachmann who was once part of the dominant 90's Grand Slam Alaska Milkmen team, the Aces also welcomed back to their fold former assistant Joel Banal.
In the recent PBA Draft picked two agile, bulky and outside-shooting big men in Ken Bono and JR Quinahan, both standing at least 6-5, traded fading Nic Belasco for the more youthful and rising star in Junjun Cabatu from Welcoat Dragons. Alaska's frontline now looks formidable as ever with 6-8 Sonny "The Boss" Thoss, 6-5 Reynel Hugnatan, 6-5 John "Big Tisoy" Ferriols, 6-6 Ken Bono, 6-6 Poch Juinio and 6-6 JR "Baby Shaq" Quinahan manning the slot...Their ever-reliable backcourt is no pushover either manned by 2006-07 MVP 6-0 Willie Miller who shares ballhandling chores with the comebacking and improved 6-1 Mike "The Cool Cat" Cortez, Dale-devil Singson and the sweet-shooting Rensy Bajar. the 6-5 Tony dela Cruz returns from a tour of duty from Team Philippines to share the wingmen chores with veteran 6-2 Jeffrey "the Jet" Cariaso. Others who are fighting for slots in the team are Christian Luanzon and Aaron Aban

for me its not a good idea to release calagoiu and adriano
calagoiu is very effective with his 3 point
adriano is a surprise player... u dont know when to step up.. but hes still worth for the team
cablay and tugade is a good deal to have larry fonacier in the team... since tugade cant contribute much coz of injury and cablay is not very productive player...
and if that deal can be granted, we have hontiveros, fonacier, calaguio and siegle these four have a d-same or common style of play..shoot and slash to the basket.. can hit 3 point..can do a defense too...
hmmm but how bout lets have another point guard? what u think guys?... racela is not effective naman ka ayo..
..
well si LA Tenorio is doing good man sad and I guess they just drafted Jonas Villanueva...LA and Jonas are once top UAAP point guards for AdMU and FEU respectively
Ok kaayo ang PGs sa SMB. Naa si Tenorio and rookie Jonas Villanueva. Tenorio has proved himself last season as a big time and mature player worthy to take the place of Racela. Villanueva on the other hand has yet to prove his worth but by basing on his UAAP performance with FEU, kasaligan pud ni si Villanueva.hmmm but how bout lets have another point guard? what u think guys?... racela is not effective naman ka ayo..

Probably what SMB needs right now is to patch up the hole left by Dorian PeƱa. Samigue Eman is the first thing that comes to everybody's minds but I don't think he could handle PBA basketball now. Siguro it will take half a season for Eman to really stand out. His 6'9 frame is no longer a factor as he used to be with the PBL and NCAA. He's going to face a lot tougher and taller oppositions like Asi Taulava, Marlou Aquino and even Eric Menk, Ali Peek and Kerby Raymundo and fellow rookie Joe DeVance. Priority is more on Danny Ildefonso or Enrico Villanueva than Eman for now.
With the current line-up of SMB, lisod gyud kaayo trade. Everybody in the team is a potential starter for other teams and that means maayo ilang players. With noted scorers what SMB needs is a player like Dorian PeƱa who could hustle, grab lose balls and play defense. If I have to make a deal, di na nako kuhaon si Fonacier, instead I'll send Tugade, Cablay or Gonzales or some combinations to Talk N' Text for Harvey Carey or to Alaska for Reynel Hugnatan. And SMB just can't orchestrate trades easily even though they have a handful of players to give away, the additional player might not fit in well just like what happened to Tugade, Rommel Adducul and even Enrico Villanueva.for me its not a good idea to release calagoiu and adriano

SMB needs role players like PeƱa and Willy Wilson, they've got more than half of the roster who are reliable scorers. Mas maayo ning role players kay maski unsang sistema, fit gyud.
nah, I dont think Alaska will trade Hugnatan for Gonzales, Cablay or Tugade...gi give up man gani nila si Cablay. Cablay actually was drafted by Alaska but after a disappointing stint with Alaska found him traded for Nic Belasco to SMB where he did not do well japon...puro hype na si Cablay, ingon maayo pa daw ni Caguioa
yeah ma o jud... pero first season ni cablay baya is effective man.. basta ma injury lagi ma usab gyud..
bro makoy.. pede naka mahimong sports analyst hahahha.. u have so many point of reading the system of SMB....
Actually, Cablay is a good player, and with all the hype, he's probably overrated, especially during his Alaska days. Cablay still hasn't found the team where he can fit in. The way I see it, Cablay needs a team where he's the go to guy. He had Cortez and Cariaso in Alaska and samot na sa San Miguel, kargado kaayo ug mga guards.
Cablay will stand out if he'll be in Welcoat, but I doubt if any deal with SMB will materialize with this. Not unless if the Dragons will go crazy and trade either Nic Belasco, JR Reyes or Rob Wainwright.![]()
Hehe.. Sige gud ko subaybay about SMB ug PBAbro makoy.. pede naka mahimong sports analyst hahahha.. u have so many point of reading the system of SMB....
I agree, Cablay will flourish with the Welcoat team kay wala kaayo sila reliable backcourt...he can pair up with Alex Compton and relegate Froilan Baguion to a reliever..he can also play two-guard but he'll have to share that spot with Jojo Tangkay, Alex Compton, Jireh Ibanes, Nino Gelig..he still has to earn his spot japonOriginally Posted by yokam
