    4.) Poor marketing.

Back to basics on this one. While your customers may not care what technologies and skills you are capable of doing, marketing staff want to know the nitty gritty details in plain English (I know that sounds like an oxy***** but believe me when I put it that way!) Remember during our college thesis days we have to present and defend our work. Marketing staff are there to help you and your customer (their boss) sell your website. But in order to do that, you have to present and defend your work to them so that in turn THEY will present and defend your site to visitors.

You have highlighted very correct and valid points and i believe personally that bothering them is really important so that we can get to understand how properly something can be done and what are the ways for it. Because that works in a good way.

Programmers are truly wizards in ways that we can do stuff which others can't, using the computer... pero sayop kung mag duha2x ka sa imong ma kaya depende sa scenario... you should know your own limitations, dili jud dapat magpaka hero always saying and assuming... "Pwede kaayo nah nato buhaton sir/mam..." Dapat always tell the clients your limitations para possible pah tagaan ka ug time extensions and other things...

i think wla pa na mention ang one fatal mistake pd especially sa mga newcomers, and that is not defining the scope of work at the beginning, like not having a contract at all, or a set of milestones. This is fine if you're charged by the hour.

But if fixed price imo work, then wlay defined scope or milestones, it's almost like you are coding for free. And the sad truth is most clients know how to sense and exploit these newcomers
